SALTEX A SUCCESS FOR RANSOMES
Ipswich, Suffolk (November 05, 2018) SALTEX 2018 was another success for Ransomes, the Ipswich-based manufacturer of turf maintenance equipment.
The Ransomes stand had good footfall on the opening day of the show which continued well into the second day. The main attraction on was the new Ransomes HM600; a batwing flail mower built in collaboration with Müthing. Other notable machinery on stand was the popular MP Series and the new-look Cushman 1600XDR-2, as well as a range of turf equipment from Turfco and Smithco.
Ransomes sponsored the SALTEX College Cup for a third successive time. The competition, introduced by the IOG, is a national student-led sports-turf challenge that took place on the first day of SALTEX. The competition was an academic test of turf management knowledge for student competitors who were enrolled at colleges throughout the U.K. on relevant courses of study. The winners of the competition were Bridgwater & Taunton College based in Somerset, who ended CAFRE College’s two-year SALTEX College Cup reign. The winning team have been offered the prize of helping to prepare the Wimbledon courts before the Wimbledon Championships in July 2019.
Commenting on SALTEX 2019, Karen Proctor, Director of Global Marketing at Ransomes, said: “It was another successful show for us. It’s always a fantastic opportunity to network, meet current and potential customers, and to showcase our latest machinery to the industry. We had lots of good leads as a result of attending SALTEX 2018 including many demonstration requests for the new HM600, which was great to see.
“We are proud to have sponsored the SALTEX College Cup again this year; congratulations to Bridgwater & Taunton College who were deserved winners. We remain committed to investing in educational and professional development to support the future of the turf industry. A big thumbs up to the IOG for another successful SALTEX.”
