Remote mowers from STM

Tracked remote mowers are finding more and more popularity for use in verge mowing. STM has had these machines in their range for several years, developed in conjunction with our German agency and a company specialising in tracked vehicles.

The current range consists of three machines:

The RoboFlail One Petrol (25HP Kawasaki) is 1.8m wide and has a 1.2m cut underslung STM rotary deck for cutting in either direction.

The RoboFlail One Diesel (25HP Yanmar) is the same platform as above comes with an underslung rough cut flail deck.

The third machine is the new RoboFlail Vario 25 Diesel (25HP Yanmar) with facility for accepting PTO driven front mounted attachments. It also features track widening from 1.33m to 1.75 for added stability.

Lighter in weight than larger out-front remote control machines on the market and with new deeper profile herringbone tracks designed to minimise slipping in wet conditions, STM reports a steady rise in sales of this model in recent months.

The RoboFlail One Petrol comes with a UK-built three-blade rotary deck slung directly underneath; this makes for a compact design that’s useful for transporting and planning cutting patterns and can be used for grass 60cm tall, but can also be relied on to leave a neat regular cut down to 7cm, says STM.

RoboFlail mowers can be operated from up to 300m distance via their control box.

A RoboFlail One Petrol was sold during 2019 to a customer for contracts including maintaining grass-roofed Nissen huts on a WW2 airfield. These machines are also very popular for reservoir use because of the steep angles involved.

STM Co Ltd has a nationwide dealer network.
