MAKITA XGT: THE POWER PROFESSIONALS NEED

Landscape professionals require high performance machines and tools to meet the daily demands of the job. Traditionally, the only option for heavy-duty tasks was petrol power. However, Makita’s XGT 40VMax and 80VMax cordless machines provide the required performance plus all the benefits of cordless.

XGT is Makita’s most powerful cordless offering to date and provides users with the high levels of performance needed for professional use, without compromising on battery run time or charge time. The XGT 40VMax and 80VMax machines can easily match the performance of the equivalent petrol products without the noise, emissions or challenges of storing, transporting and handling fuel.

The growing Makita XGT range now comprises over 98 machines including more than 26 garden and grounds maintenance models. The collection includes XGT blowers, pole saws, hedge trimmers, brush cutters, linetrimmers and split shaft multi-function tools. The range also includes 40VMax and 80VMax tools for hard landscaping tasks including circular and mitre saws, impact drivers, brad nailers and earth augers.

Makita has engineered its XGT batteries for rapid charging to significantly reduce downtime and improve productivity. A 2.5Ah XGT battery will charge in just 28 minutes, a 4.0Ah battery in 45 minutes, 5.0Ah in 50 minutes, and the highest capacity 8.0Ah XGT battery can be charged in just 72 minutes. To optimise run times further, the machines feature Makita’s innovative ‘BL’ brushless motor technology. With no brushes within the motor to generate friction, there is less energy lost through heat, resulting in improved efficiency and longer run times. This also reduces on-going maintenance costs as there is minimal wear on the motor components.

Makita’s XGT tools are also built to last. XGT batteries have been built for rugged and tough environments with a secure connection mechanism that prevents accidental detachment and a heavy duty, shock absorbing outer casing and cell holder that protects from accidental heavy impacts. The battery is also IPX4 rated with a triple layer waterproofing, which means it is splash and shower proof – ideal for outdoor garden and grounds maintenance work.

Makita is currently running several end user promotions including a Spring Garden Product Redemption that offers free products with selected XGT and LXT garden machinery models, as well as a XGT Power Tool Redemption promotion, where end user customers can claim a free 2.5Ah battery with selected 40VMax XGT models or a free 5.0Ah battery with selected 80VMax XGT models.
